When you ask how much most Realtors earned in 2009, most report their gross commission income (GCI), which is how much they made before expenses. Profitability, however, is determined by how much you keep after expenses. If you want to keep more of your hard-earned commission dollars, here are 10 ways to do it. More » 3 more associations join calREDD Three Butte County Realtor associations are now contributing listings to calREDD, the California Association of Realtors announced Monday. CalREDD, which stands for "California Real Estate Dynamic Data," is a statewide multiple listing service for the association, which hopes to eventually contain listings for all real property in California. Real Living conversions continue Following the first rebranding of a Miami brokerage earlier this month, three more brokerages are the latest franchisees to convert to the Real Living Real Estate brand following a merger with GMAC Real Estate, according to a release issued Monday. NAR: Home sales up 4.9% in '09 While September through November saw a rise in the rate of resale home sales that was fueled at least in part by federal tax credits to homebuyers, December saw a monthly decrease in sales, according to a report released by the National Association of Realtors. Homebuyer expectations disappoint Ahhh, the agony and the ecstasy of buying a home. Well, the ecstasy has largely been supplanted by anxiety and nervousness, but I'd like to think there's still a little taste of excitement and suspense (the good kind) inherent in making this lifestyle transformation. 2010: year of the turnaround? A spurt in home sales in 2009, aided by low interest rates and the first-time homebuyer tax credit, has led some economists to forecast a turnaround in the housing market this year. Other forecasters feel this is too optimistic a projection. |
